Trump disparages presidential foes in plaques attached to White House

WASHINGTON ‒ President Donald Trump took personal swipes at his top presidential foes in new plaques installed in the White House, the latest Trump makeover of the mansion.

The White House this week added plaques featuring brief biographical write-ups below photos of the former presidents on the Trump's "Walk of Fame," which was installed along the West Wing's colonnade in September.

Some of the biographies read like standard historical summaries, only with slight Trump twists. John F. Kennedy's plaque refers to the 35th president's "painful setback" from the "failed Bay of Pigs Invasion." The plaque for Harry S Truman calls the Democratic president's domestic agenda, known as the Fair Deal, a "so-called Fair Deal."

WASHINGTON ―  President Donald Trump  delivered a forceful defense of his first 11 months in office during a primetime address from the White House, pointing the finger at Democrats for Americans' economic anxieties in a combative speech that sets the tone for the 2026 midterm elections. "Boy, are we making progress," Trump said Dec. 17 in a speech focused heavily on the affordability issue that has increasingly bedeviled his administration and threatens his party's electoral chances next year. Trump blamed the problem on his White House predecessor and immigrants without legal status, as polls show Americans are increasingly losing confidence in his economic stewardship,   as inflation recently rose to 3% .   The president's brief address - it clocked in at under 20 minutes - often looked backward as he mentioned former President  Joe Biden  seven times, pillorying a leader he claimed made  "Life is unaffordable for millions and millions of Americans....

Kelsey Grammer  is giving three cheers for  President Donald Trump . The " Frasier " star, 70, praised Trump in an  interview with Fox News Digital  on Saturday, Dec. 6, ahead of the  Kennedy Center Honors  dinner in Washington. D.C. "I think he's extraordinary," Grammer told Fox. "He's one of the greatest presidents we've ever had. Maybe the greatest. There are some things he still wants to get done, and I think that's terrific, but there was a big hill to climb." Grammer, best known for his role as Dr. Frasier Crane on the classic sitcom "Cheers" and its spin-off "Frasier," is an outspoken Republican who has previously shared his support for Trump. Speaking to The Times earlier  this year, the "X-Men: The Last Stand" star said it's "great to have somebody" as president who "actually means what they say."
